Receive a strong Pagerank 4 starting up from 0 in 3 month
That’s it! As I promised at the beginning of this blog in the end of january, Spicu will boom the internet in just a few month. With an alexa Rank for about 200.000 in just 3 month, on saturday just happened the next great thing.
Google has updated it’s Pagerank Toolbar on May 3rd, and as you can see, Spicu.com now has a Pagerank 4. I startet with this site on January 23rd from zero. I had no pagerank, wasn’t ranked in Alexa, and got no Backlinks. The domain spicu.com wasn’t registered before by anybody else (you can check archives.org if you don’t believe!). I didn’t use no spam tactics like getiing backlinks from blog comments or spend any cent in backlinks! Spicu is a live project, and everybody who follows this blog and the Spicu Success Story, can get the same results for himself! Remember always - Spicu is a live project! I’m not a lier, I would not tell you things you will not need.
I don’t want you to get a senseless site with just some backlinks and a few users a day. You should have your own serious project, a site that makes sense to invest your (little) time!
Today I won’t let you know what I exactly did to receive this pagerank. But don’t be angry, I think there are not many sites out there that get a result next to mine. Especially with not spending any money in it! So it’s worth for you to stay tuned! I’ll show you all of my tactics within the next lesson of the Spicu Success Story.
Today the pagerank has not the same priority like before, but regardless to that, the pagerank is still a good value to compete and compare your site with others! And whatever other people think: pagerank does matter and will matter anytime, so don’t turn away completely.
And one last thing - a pagerank 4 is good, but don’t think that this was the last update by Google, that shows some respect to Spicu :-)!

Viral Marketing: The Spicu Success Story (Part2)
Publish your site and start doing all the necessary stuff to push it to the WWW. From now you are not far away from getting users on your site and then - finally - make money :)!
Time for part 2 of the Success Story. It’s been a while since Part 1, but now you sould be ready for the further steps. After you have done what I’ve told you in The Spicu Success Story (Part1) you have to make some final steps to publish your site on your webspace.
#2 Second Lesson: Some Seo basics
To get our site recognized the best way by Google and the other search engines your site should be easy to be spidered by the robots, and you should to tell the robots what is importent.
First step: The URLs
To make your sites URLs (the URL of a category or of your posts) look useful for a search engine the URL has always to say what it’s content is about. For example a page with content for the keywords “Viral Marketing: The Spicu Success Story (Part1)” has to say what it’s about.
In the Wordpress standard template it will be http://www.spicu.com/?p=11 !
Do you think a search engine will recognize this? P=11 will tell nothing. The better way would be: http://www.spicu.com/2008/02/13/viral-marketing-the-spicu-success-story-part1/
You can’t imagine how easy it is, to get this great URL title generated automatically. You only have to activate PERMALINK in your Wordpress Dashboard (go to Settings -> Permalink -> Day and Name) - done! Now all your posts have the perfect URL design.
Second Step:
What also is importend for the search engines are the right Title and Meta Tags of your page. There is also a way to get this very easy. You only have to install the ALL-IN-ONE-SEO Pack, which you can download on the link! After uploading the file to WP-Content/plugins you just have to activate the plugin in the Dashboard, you’ll find in every new post you write some extra fields for the seo. Then you can enter a specific Title and Meta Tags for every post. The title should always tell in short words what the sites content is about. For usual that is your posts title. Then enter a short discription of your post and the meta tags that will fit. I think you always should be serious, so don’t tell the search engine lies! They might get angry anytime :).
Third Step: Get ready and make your first post
Now your done. You are ready to tell the world what your blog is about and write some interesting posts.
After a few hours or mightbe some days your site should be indexed in Google and friends and you can start to push your blog

This is no dirty trick how to manipulate others, it’s only a smart way using the internet as an easy platform to promote yourself to the whole world!
#1 First Lesson: The Startup
The first thing you should have is a good name. But nowadays it’s not easy to find a name that sounds (OR LOOKS) good and is easy to remind. And even if you have found this name - it has to be free as a domain!! And in a world full of Domain Grabbers and fakers this is nearly impossible!
So what can you do?
Well, what I have noticed when I was searchin for a domain name was that I don’t wanna loose time in typing in a hundred of short fantasy names in a domain-register field, to check if it is available or not. It has to be much easier! So there must be a way to search available names, maybe also with the possibility to limit your search. And there they are: the machines that do the work for you. They’re calles “Domain Name Ideas Generators”. The one I choose was makewords.com ! You don’t need to do anything more than just say how much characters your domain name should have and you get the results. I was very happy as there was the little name “spicu.com” in my results :-).
So the thing with the name is done!
The second thing you need is a good platform, that provides you with all that stuff you must have to CAN grow! It should be a system that a) is perfect in it’s basic version for Search Engines like Google, Yahoo etc., b) has a very wide spreading all over the world, what means that many other people use also, c) is very easy to customize with plugins, themes, etc., what normaly means it has to be OPEN SOURCE! and d) is totally free!!! You shouldn’t spend money for all that!
The system I’ve chosen was Wordpress. I think it’s the most popular and you can fins a lot of stuff for that.
So, now that you’ve found your system and installed it on your webserver you’re ready for the next steps.
The third step: THE VISUALS
What I think (and that’s not what everbodys thinkin), it’s very important what your site looks like and what will be your logo!
Design is not all, but it’s all! (hope you guys understand:-))
If you want to get big and reach a lot of (different) people in the whole world, with different ages, interests, etc. you should choose a clear design and something the people will remind. Something that they’ll see repeating at different websites, magazines, etc. - YOUR LOGO! So please people choose a logo that not looks exactly like the one of your favorite brand and not a standard fonttype like verdana, arial, etc. Just take somethin unique. And belive me, it’s not too hard to get. Show us your creative veins :-).
A little tip: You can download free fonts at sites like dafont.com, and customize them a little! That’s all!
Ok when you have decided what theme (for the beginning you can use for example a free wordpress template, or other free template for the system you use) you’ll take and have your new LOGO ready your site can be published in a few further steps!
